The electric arc furnace is the primary steelmaking, and the ladle refining furnace is the next process of the electric arc furnace: refining. The electric arc furnace melts the scrap steel into molten steel, and the ladle refining furnace adds a certain alloy according to the requirements of the finished steel, adjusts the steel composition to the technological requirements, removes harmful gases and sundries in the steel, and smelts into qualified billets.
Ladle furnace process
Preparation before refining → Converter tapping and charging → Crane hoisting → Ride in ladle car → Connect argon blowing pipe→ Open the ladle to the refining station → Lower the furnace cover → Drop electrode and heat → Temperature measurement and sampling → Add the first batch of deoxidizer and supplement slag→Alloy fine-tuning, add the second batch of deoxidizer (slag white)→ Temperature measurement, adjust power supply → Refining control temperature → Feed wire → Soft argon blowing→ Add thermal insulating agent → Lift the bag to continuous casting.
Ladle furnace function
1. Molten steel heating and heat preservation function
The molten steel is heated by the electric arc, alloy materials are added to adjust the steel composition, and slag is added for desulfurization and deoxidation.
2. Argon stirring function
The argon gas is discharged into the molten steel through the breathable bricks installed at the bottom of the ladle furnace, so that the molten steel can obtain a certain stirring function.
3. Vacuum degassing function
After the ladle is hoisted into the vacuum tank, a steam jet pump is used for vacuum degassing. At the same time, argon is blown into the bottom of the ladle to stir the molten steel, which can reduce the oxygen content and sulfur content in the molten steel, and can remove the hydrogen and nitrogen in the molten steel.
